Through my Web Technologies class at ACCC, I was able to build a social media presence surrounding my company, "The Slush Truck." Social media is an essential component of any modern-day business or company, and can offer many unique opportunities. Among these opportunities is getting to connect with and update your followers in real-time, receive honest feedback, and learn how to adjust your business model to make more sales. Featured below is a graphic I created for my Pinterest page, promoting the "Grapeful Glory Slushie."

Week by week, I was assigned a series of tasks to complete by a certain deadline for my course at ACCC. For a large part of the coursework, I was asked to create business pages using various websites and social media platforms. There were a total of six accounts I created for my company, including: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. For each of the accounts I created, I wanted to capture the essence of my brand and illustrate what it was I was selling. Through using Canva, a graphic design platform for content creators, I was able to create unique graphics that promoted my brand and overall aesthetic. These graphics were featured in things like Facebook posts, Instagram stories, YouTube videos, and social media cover photos. Overall, I had a great time working with the tools at my disposal, and I really think I made my accounts look as professional as possible. I even fooled a representative of Constant Contact, a service that facilitates online marketing for businesses, into thinking "The Slush Truck" was real! They left a voicemail on my phone saying they had done some "poking around" on my Facebook page, and that they had some ideas to help promote my business. To me that was a testament that the social media branding for my business was solid enough to be seen as legitimate. It made me very happy!

Facebook and Instagram have both become essential tools for promoting up-and-coming businesses. They make it so their interfaces are relatively simple and easy to navigate; with notifications that give you a nudge and let you know how to expand your business. One such way, through Instagram Business, is creating advertisements and then paying Instagram to distribute them throughout their website to users that may be interested in what it is you're selling. This was something I did not have the ability to try out, but I still got to take advantage of the many free-to-use features within Facebook and Instagram. Pictured below is the layout of my Instagram via mobile view :)
